Finn and Leon were standing in a garage and wondering how they got there. They were also wondering how they were going to get out. All the doors were closed. Leon was all nervous that they were going to be stuck in the garage for days and days and days. Finn didn’t mind, though; there were lots of really cool things to see in this particular garage. So Finn let Leon do all the worrying and he just wandered around looking at things.
After about a week of looking at things in the garage, Leon thought that maybe he found the button that would open the garage door. So he shouted at Finn, but Finn didn’t hear him. So he shouted again, and Finn still didn’t hear him. So finally, Leon walked over to Finn and pulled off the ear protectors that Finn had been wearing. “These are really cool!”, shouted Finn. “When I’m wearing ‘em, I can’t hear a thing!”, he added. “I noticed”, said Leon. Then he proceeded to tell Finn about the button he found. “That sounds really cool. Let’s push it and see what happens.”, said Finn.
So Leon pushed the button. As soon as he pushed it, Finn wished that he was still wearing the ear protectors, cuz the garage door opener made a horrible sound; but it didn’t open the door. “Hmmm”, said Leon, “I wonder what that means.” “I think it means that it made a horrible noise but didn’t open the garage door.”, replied Finn. “You’re probably right, Finn.”, said Leon.
As they stood there next to the button, Finn told Leon about a cool ladder that he had seen leaning against the wall. Leon said that ladders were good for climbing up to high things. “Remember the time I climbed up on the roof to look for the frisbee?”, asked Leon. “You’re right!”, said Finn, “maybe there’s a frisbee stuck in the garage door opener and that’s why it didn’t open!” “Let’s use the ladder and look!”, added Leon.
So they did.
I don't see a frisbee up here
Finn, after climbing up on the ladder, decided that he would be brave and jump up on the garage door opener. After all, he was excited about seeing a frisbee. But, there wasn’t a frisbee. There was just a broken gear thingy and a really cool black chain that was hanging down. So Finn decided to play on it like a swing.
This chain thing is fun!
As Finn hung there on the chain, he said to Leon, “You know that the door still isn’t open, right?”
