To Row Or Not To Row

Finn and Leon were walking in the snow next to a cinder block wall when they came across something they weren’t expecting. There, in the snow were a bunch of rubber ducks!. There was also an egg (is silly putty considered a rubber duck in the making?) and an orange guy. Finn and Leon were excited that they had found these creatures and immediately jumped right into the middle of them all.

Leon looked around at all of the ducks, the maybe soon-to-be-duck and the orange guy and shouted, “Aren’t you guys supposed to be in a row!?”

Finn didn’t think so and that’s what he said to Leon. The ducks didn’t say anything, they just smiled and sat there.

Leon looked around again at all the ducks, the maybe soon-to-be duck and the orange guy and thought that if they weren’t in a row, maybe they were in some other significant pattern that had deep cosmic meaning.

Finn didn’t think so and that’s what he said to Leon. The ducks still didn’t say anything, they just continued to smile and sit there.

“Let’s get out the computers and the protractors and the laser measuring devices and the GPS units and the satellite photos and all that other technical, scientific stuff and find the significant pattern that all of these ducks, the maybe soon-to-be duck and that strange-looking orange guy are in!”, exclaimed Leon. “The significant, cosmic pattern has to be there, I just know it!”, he added. “Why else would we have come across such an interesting configuration of creatures in the snow next to this cinder block wall?”

Finn just sat there with the ducks, the maybe soon-to-be duck, the orange guy and Leon and quietly said, “why don’t we just sit here and enjoy their company?”

“Oh. I didn’t think of that. Yes, let’s do that.” agreed Leon.

So they did.

And that was the most significant part of that entire experience. Well, that and the fact that a group of ducks climbed up on Finn’s head and stood there; in a row.
